THE ART OF PIN-UP Life Drawing with a Cabaret Twist with Dr Sketchy, Dusty Limits and Bettsie Bon Bon At the Century Club - Soho W1 Thursday 9th February 2023 Doors open at 6:30 pm, Drawing commences at 7:00 pm Pin-up modeling has been described as a subculture that is invested in promoting positive body images and a love for one's sexuality. In her book, historian Maria Buszek describes how the art of pin-up would "encourage the erotic self-awareness and self expression of real women". Join us in the month of love to explore these images at Dr. Sketchy's Burlesque and Cabaret life-drawing class at the Century. Grab a pencil, a drink, and a seat for the most fun figure-drawing class/party in town, hosted by our very own Evil Headmaster, multi award-winning cabaret artist Dusty Limits, and featuring the queen of burlesque, Bettsie Bon Bon. You'll see performances and lots of poses for the best Thursday night before Valentines you could ask for. Remember the Dr. Sketchy philosophy is simple: their classes are to fine art what karaoke is to singing. They reward boldness, imagination and whimsy. You don't need any previous drawing experience to have a brilliant time, and if you think 'oh no, I can't draw', come join us anyway. Dusty will dispel your inner critic and take you back to when you drew just for fun. We can all make art and there are prizes to be won! Tickets £12 - please click here to buy. |
