LARRY TEE
|
Currently, Larry Tee finds himself based in London and continuing to travel the world playing festivals from the U.S. to the Netherlands to Austalia. In addition to his absurd weekly party known as 'Super Electro Party Machine' in the heart of East London, he currently has a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas where he is known as "The King of Pool Parties". With his next Ultra Records single 'Charlie'-a song about Lady Gaga's hair and fashion designer-due at the beginning of June, Larry Tee continues to travel the world and bring his unique and cutting-edge music to the most out of control and absurd dance parties. Larry Tee's smash last album(2009) for ULTRA, Club Badd, spawned hot remixes by Steve Aoki featuring Santigold, Vandalism, Sebastian Leger, Afrojack (went to #1 beatport), Kris Menace, as well as a cover of LICKY co-written by Sean Garrett (Beyonce's last album) for top 10 artist Shontelle and guest spots by Princess Superstar and Perez Hilton. The music was also featured in two #1 movies last year, "Get Him to the Greek' and "Hall Pass'. Tee played Mardi Gras in Sydney with Calvin Harris, Buenos Aires with Paul Oakenfold as well gigs at his pool-parties and his residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. His new 'CHARLIE' is the theme song for the SOLAR FESTIVAL in the Netherlands, which he is also headlining. He will be touring in the summer and fall to promote his new singles. 2008 saw Larry Tee traveling the world, bringing his unique sound and exclusive tracks to festivals and nightclubs worldwide. He has played alongside Kraftwerk, The Gorillas, New Order, Mark Ronson, LCD Soundsystem, Nick Cave, Chemical Brothers, and Fatboy Slim in festivals like Bennicassim, Global Gathering, Mysterylands, Primavera, and Summercase, and his international schedule has grown with his Beatport success. New videos for “Licky”, "I Love U”, "Hipster Girl," a track with Perez Hilton, as well as an exclusive re-edit of Kelly's infamous YouTube smash "Shoes" give the album a visual side like no other today! Larry Tee hails from Atlanta, Georgia where he was friends with REM and his first group, the Fans, that produced the B-52s' first independent single “Rock Lobster/52 Girls.” He moved to NYC with fellow Atlantans RuPaul and Lady Bunny and quickly took over the NYC club scene with his epic party Love Machine. He started and named the infamous DISCO 2000 of 'Party Monster' movie fame, DJ'ed the ROXY weekly, and co-wrote the Billboard Top 40 song Rupaul's “Supermodel (You Better Work).” In 1997 Larry got clean from drugs and alcohol and decided to re-examine his life and career. He turned to music for inspiration and championed a new sound and movement which became the Electroclash phenomena. He created the term “Electroclash” for his festivals in 2001/2002 (it's in the Oxford English Dictionary), which helped launch the careers of Scissor Sisters, Felix Da Housecat, 2 Many DJs/Soulwax, Peaches and many more. |
