The London Life & Loves of JOHN BARRY with Travis Elborough at the Century Club - Soho W1 Wednesday 27th May 2020 Doors open at 6:30 pm, Talk commences at 7:00 pm Anticipating the release of the latest Bond movie, ‘No Time to Die’, pop culture commentator Travis Elborough joins us to explore the London life and loves of John Barry. Barry was the composer who did as much as anyone else to establish the 007 brand and whose signature scores still inform the soundscape and themes of each new film - including the latest haunting title song by Billie Eilish. But Barry was much more than Bond. Apart from the 11 scores for the 007 franchise, in a career spanning more than 50 years, he penned many more award-winning soundtracks and he had a glamorous private life that Ian Fleming would have approved of with multiple marriages to beautiful women (including Jane Birkin), scandals, liaisons and a stint as one of the coolest figures in swing London as leader of the John Barry Seven.
